Here are your latest selections….

…two very independent stars!

Ladies first…

a lass that knows her own mind ….. Kate Winslet

She was born Kate Elizabeth Winslet
on October 5 th, 1975
in Reading , Berkshire , England
to a very theatrical family!

Both of Kate’s parents were stage actors, her maternal grandparents managed a repertory theater and uncle Robert Bridges was a working actor in London’s West End theater district. With a background like that, no one expected the lovely Brit to do anything else but act! And she does just that all her way….from a murderous adolescent in “Heavenly Creatures” to Ophelia in “Hamlet”. Kate is the youngest actress ever to win 5 Oscar nominations (the latest this year for “Little Children”).

On the personal front Kate has a daughter, Mia Honey age 7, from her marriage to James Threapleton and a son, Joe Alfie age 3, to her current husband, director Sam Mendes. They live in a 14 th century manor house in the English countryside.

Good luck at the Oscars, Kate!

….and a guy who charts his own course! John Cusack

He was born John Paul Cusack
on June 28 th, 1966
in Evanston , Illinois
to Dick and Nancy Cusack,
an actor and a math teacher and he has 4 siblings…. all actors!

Sadly, John lost his father in June, 2003 to pancreatic cancer but he and his brother and three sisters are carrying on the family tradition.

Right now John has 49 films on his resume and 3 more in production. But all he can talk about is his latest release “Grace is Gone”. The film got critical praise at the Sundance Film Festival in late January. The story deals with a young dad trying to cope with the death of his soldier wife in the killing streets of Iraq .

Extremely talented and certainly not hard to look at, this talented young actor has the ability to choose roles that broaden his horizons while seeking his goal to be involved in “a great piece of art”. He is currently dating actress Neve Campbell…but so far, girls, he is still single!
