You’ll Never Walk Alone

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don’t be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on,
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone.
You’ll never walk alone.
(repeat last chorus)

I’ll Walk Beside You

I’ll walk beside you
Through the world today
While dreams and songs and flowers
Bless your way.
I’ll look into your eyes
And hold your hand.
I’ll walk beside you
Through the golden land.

I’ll walk beside you
Through the world tonight.
Beneath the starry skies
Ablaze with light.
And in your heart
Love’s tender words I’ll hide.
I’ll walk beside you
Through the eventide.

I’ll walk beside you
Through the passing years.
Through days of cloud and sunshine,
Joy and tears.
And when the Great Call comes
The sunset gleams.
I’ll walk beside you
To the Land of Dreams.

Through The Years

Through the years,
I’ll take my place beside you,
Smiling through the years.
Through your tears,
I’ll keep my place beside you,
Smiling through your tears.
I’ll be near,
No matter when or where.
Remember what is mine
I’ll always share.
Through the night,
I’ll be a star to guide you.
Shining bright,
Though clouds may come and hide you.
Through the years,
‘Til  love is gone
And time first disappears.
I’ll come to you
Smiling through the years.

Without a Song

Without a song,
The day would never end.
Without a song,
The road would never bend.
When things go wrong,
A man ain’t got a friend
Without a song.
That field of corn
Would never see a plow.
That field of corn
Would be deserted now.
The darkie’s born
But he’s no good no how
Without a song.

I’ve got my trouble and woe,
But sure as I know the Jordan will roll,
I’ll get along as long as a song
Is strong in my soul.

I’ll never know
What makes the rain to fall.
I’ll never know
What makes the grass so tall.
I only know
There ain’t no love at all
Without a song.

Dusty Road

Got no money, got no shack.
All this worry is bending my back
So I’ve got to keep going, can’t turn back.
Got to keep toting this load.
I’m just stumbling through the dark
And I’m mumbling as I walk.
Heaven help me, hear my prayer.
Show me the end of this road.

Nobody knows what a load I’m bearing.
Nobody cares if it’s rags I’m wearing.
Nobody says “Brother, let me share your trouble”
Traveling on a dusty road.
Trudging along though I sweat and swelter
Singing a song till I reach the delta.
Out in a storm and not a place to stay for shelter
On a dusty road.

Storms to the right of me, storms to the left of me
Blue skies I never see.
Though the road looks black, I’ll never turn back.
Straight ahead lies my destiny.
I’ll find my way though the dust is blinding.
I’ll paint the clouds with a silver lining.
I’ll find the land where the sun is always shining
At the end of the dusty road.
(repeat last chorus)

Trees

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast.
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray.

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair.
Upon whose bosom snow has lain.
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
